Masai Mara Budget Camping Safari

Depart Nairobi early morning (around 7:00 AM) and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a stopover at the viewpoint for stunning photos and geological explanations. Continue your journey through the escarpment to Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your budget tented camp in time for lunch. After settling in and a brief rest, embark on your first afternoon game drive in the reserve. The Masai Mara is renowned for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at the budget tented camp.

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive to catch predators on the hunt as the savannah comes alive. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast. You have the option to visit a traditional Maasai village ($20 per person, paid directly) to learn about their fascinating culture, customs, and way of life. After lunch and a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive exploring different sections of the reserve. Look out for the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo) and witness the Great Migration if visiting during migration season (July-October). Enjoy spectacular sunset views before returning to camp for dinner.

Enjoy one final early morning game drive before breakfast, giving you one last chance to spot wildlife and capture memorable photos. After breakfast, check out of the camp and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Stop for lunch en route (included). Arrive in Nairobi late afternoon (approximately 5:00 PM) with drop-off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
